UfM webinar: “Understand, Verify, Prompt: Boosting Journalism with AI”

27 May 2025, Istanbul and online. The UfM training session on journalism and AI, co-organised with the Euro-Mediterranean Network of Women Journalists and led by Saja Mortada from the Arab Reporters for Investigative Journalism, will take place on May 27 from 9 am to 11 am GMT+3.

Held within the framework of the UfM Digital Sustainable Week, this two-hour workshop will provide hands-on guidance on how to use generative AI tools to support investigative work, streamline research, and enhance storytelling and fact-checking.

By centring the experience around female journalists, the training session also creates a collaborative space to discuss gender-aware uses of AI and how women in media can take the lead in shaping the future of tech-enhanced journalism.

In an era where AI is rapidly transforming the media landscape, it is essential for journalists, fact-checkers, and researchers to understand how these tools can be leveraged ethically and effectively.
