17–18 November 2026, Fez, Morocco – National focal points from UfM Member States and Social Partners will convene for the 21st meeting of the UfM Regional Platform on Employment and Labour, hosted by the EUROMED University in Fez, Morocco, and co-chaired by the UfM Co-Presidency: the European Commission (DG EMPL) and Jordan (Ministry of Labour).
The meeting will advance the implementation of the ambitious UfM Action Plan on Employment and Labour 2026–2028 and provide an opportunity to exchange on key priorities for Euro-Mediterranean cooperation on employment and labour, with a particular focus on the future of jobs and skills in a region that continues to face structural youth unemployment, high levels of informality and an alarming rate of young people Not in Education, Employment or Training (NEETs).
A dedicated sessions will focus on strengthening regional cooperation and advancing the implementation of the Action Plan across the Euro-Mediterranean region. UfM Member States, the European Commission and the UfM Secretariat will present initiatives contributing to the implementation of the Action Plan.
Another focused session will take stock of the implementation of the Pact for the Mediterranean. Platform members will also exchange views on the recommendations of the Community of Practice on Youth Employment for advancing the implementation of initiatives proposed through its first two cohorts. Also Platform members will be informed on relevant projects and initiatives supporting employment, skills development and regional cooperation.
The Regional Platform on Employment and Labour meets twice a year under the co-chairmanship of the UfM Co-Presidency, represented by the European Commission (DG EMPL) and Jordan (Ministry of Labour). It brings together representatives of employment and labour ministries and agencies from UfM Member States, as well as representatives of European institutions and agencies, international organisations and relevant experts.
