Union for the Mediterranean Ministerial Meeting on Industrial Cooperation
Brussels, 19 February, 2014
The 9th UfM Ministerial Meeting on Industrial Cooperation will take place on 19 February 2014 with the following objectives:
- Present and discuss the findings of the assessment of the business environment in the Mediterranean partner countries, with reference to the “Small Business Act” for Europe and the Euro-Mediterranean Charter for Enterprise;
- Discuss future strategic directions for Euro-Mediterranean industrial cooperation based on the ideas of the different parties involved, including the results from the consultation coordinated by Palestine and ASCAME (Association of the Mediterranean Chambers of Commerce and Industry);
- Endorse the Declaration of the Union for the Mediterranean Ministerial Meeting on Euro-Mediterranean Industrial Cooperation and the 2014-2015 work programme on Euro-Mediterranean industrial cooperation.
The Ministerial Meeting will be co-chaired by Mr. Antonio Tajani, Vice President of the European Commission and Commissioner in charge of Industry and Entrepreneurship, and by Mr. Al-Halawany, Jordan’s Industry and Trade Minister.
The Secretariat of the Union for the Mediterranean has actively participated in the preparatory work of the Meeting together with the UfM co-presidencies, the European institutions (European External Action Service -EEAS- and European Commission -Directorate-General Enterprise and Industry) – and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
