Workshop on Sustainable investment – A deep dive into green taxonomies and ESG disclosure regulations

12 to 14 May 2024, Madrid, Spain – In line with its strong commitment to promote sustainable economic development in the Mediterranean region, the UfM Secretariat, with the support of the German Development Cooperation and in collaboration with Climate & Company, one of Germany’s leading Sustainable Finance Think Tanks, will organize a Workshop on Sustainable Investment from 12 to 14 May 2024 in Madrid, Spain.
The event will provide a unique opportunity for experts and relevant stakeholders from the region to discuss how to define, measure and ensure the sustainability of investments in light of taxonomy developments and their implications for UfM countries. In addition, the workshop will engage participants around the relevant ESG disclosure regulations and frameworks at the EU and the international level.
Structured around panels, presentations, breakout sessions, a field visit and a cultural part, this activity aims to:
- Inform participants about the best approaches to measure and ensure the sustainable impact of investment portfolios.
- Incentivise participants to share their experiences on sustainable investment, including lessons learned and challenges, and inspire location-relevant action and cooperation among the participants.
The workshop is intended for representatives from governments, private sector academia, and civil society from the UfM Member States, who work on the promotion of sustainable investments.
Your participation will be confirmed by the UfM based on availability. The UfM will sponsor up to 30 participants from eligible countries and professional backgrounds.
