CIHEAM Launching of Mediterranean Platform for PhD students and young researchers
18-19 July 2016. Montpellier
With the support of the Secretariat of the Union for the Mediterranean, the International Centre for Advanced Mediterranean Agronomic Studies (CIHEAM) will hold the First Mediterranean Forum initiative for PhD students and young researchers in Montpellier in July, 18-19.
The objectives of this forum is to open up a platform of debate on potential initiatives to address the current challenges related to sustainable agricultural food production systems in the Mediterranean basin. Further discussions will touch upon other areas of expertise such as sustainable agricultural production, preservation of natural resources, logistics, supply chain, food consumption, etc. The forum will also be a great opportunity to present recent research and development work undertaken by CIHEAM’s young researchers and doctoral students.
This collaboration follows the UfM labelled project Higher Education on Food Security and Rural Development, which aims to enhance cooperation between Mediterranean countries in the fields of food security and rural development through the improvement of postgraduate programmes offered by CIHEAM.
