2nd Ad hoc Senior Officials Meeting on Higher Education

24 May, Online – In preparation of the UfM Ministerial Conference on Higher Education, to be held in Fez, Morocco, on 8 November 2023, a second Ad hoc Senior Officials Meeting on Higher Education will be convened online on 24 May in the morning. This meeting, which will be chaired by the UfM Co-Presidency, namely the Directorate General for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture of the European Commission (DG EAC) and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, is aimed at identifying concrete pathways of future collaboration in the field of higher education. Further to the first ad hoc Senior Officials Meeting (ad hoc SOM) that took place in Alicante, Spain, on 16 March 2023, the co-Presidency received from Member States a number of proposals on the text of the first Draft Ministerial Declaration to be adopted in Fez. One of the purposes of this second ad hoc Senior Officials Meeting (ad hoc SOM) is to conduct a discussion about the second draft of the future first UfM Ministerial Declaration on Higher Education prepared by the co-presidencies.
