Multiple Stressors Impact on Mediterranean Marine Biodiversity and Coastal Communities: New Commitments for Adaptation Challenges – A New Expanded Approach for the Plastic Busters Initiative

30 October 2025, Barcelona – The Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) will host this event on 30 October 2025, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at its headquarters in Palau de Pedralbes, Barcelona. The meeting marks a key milestone for the Plastic Busters initiative, labelled by the UfM in 2016, and will feature the launch of two new projects: MIRAMAR (Interreg Euro-MED) and MedProAct (Interreg NEXT MED). Bringing together all actors involved in both programmes, academia, and civil society, the event will highlight new commitments and synergies to tackle the multiple stressors affecting Mediterranean marine biodiversity and coastal communities, advancing towards a more sustainable and resilient blue Mediterranean.
