A UfM Ministerial Meeting emanates from a decision by the UfM Member States, whether through a direct mandate via a previous Ministerial Declaration, or through the UfM Senior Officials according to their respective priority areas.

What are the preparatory works that precede a Ministerial Meeting?

Before any Ministerial Meeting takes place, there are several lengthy steps that need to be undertaken to identify priorities for action in the framework of relevant UfM Work groups and task forces. At the World Youth Forum, the models will focus on the steps that include drafting and negotiating the Ministerial Declaration.

Preparing the Ministerial Declaration

During the model, the draft will be negotiated, and endorsed by the participants. The Declaration needs to include concrete and specific areas of cooperation in line with the deliberations undertaken in relevant UfM platform of Dialogue, not to mention recommendations for action on certain topics.
