22–23 October 2025, Barcelona – The Union for the Mediterranean (UfM), with the support of the German Development Cooperation (GIZ) and in close collaboration with the European Commission (DG TRADE and DG TAXUD), will organize the UfM Regional Workshop on the Revised Pan-Euro-Mediterranean (PEM) Convention on Rules of Origin, to be held at the UfM premises in Barcelona on 22 and 23 October 2025.
This Workshop aims to deliver a comprehensive learning module focused on the practical application of the rules of origin under the revised PEM Convention. Its main objective is to familiarize participants with the new rules and promote the exchange of experiences and views among government authorities from the PEM Contracting Parties (CPs). This initiative will contribute to the effective implementation of the revised PEM rules of origin and support regional trade integration within the PEM area.
As part of the Workshop, participants will also take part in a field visit to the Port of Barcelona, providing an opportunity to receive presentations on the port’s key activities, including customs operations, and to enjoy a boat tour of its facilities.
