UfM R&I Platform and “Innovation Fair – Enabling that step forward”

October 22-23, Brussels. The UfM R&I Platform and “Innovation Fair – Enabling that step forward” will take place on 22-23 of October 2025 in Brussels. On 22 October, the 31st Meeting of the UfM Regional Platform on Research and Innovation will have a dedicated Drafting Session and to assess advancement since the last Ministerial gathering. During the 30th Meeting of the UfM Regional Platform on Research and Innovation, held in Cairo on 3 October 2024, it was agreed that “The principle of holding a new Ministerial Conference on Research and Innovation was approved.”As such, the path towards a new Ministerial Declaration has been opened. In 2025 dedicated thematic Working Groups have been established to contribute to identifying priorities for the Ministerial in topics such as capacity building, researchers’ mobility, open data and innovation.

This edition of the Innovation Fair will showcase groundbreaking initiatives and celebrate the vibrancy of European, African and Mediterranean innovation ecosystems and their cooperation — bringing together innovators, entrepreneurs, start-ups, business support organisations, researchers, investors and policy makers to advance the AU-EU Innovation Agenda (2023–2033) and the EU-Med R&I Roadmaps.
