27 April – 14h – 16h30 CEST. The UfM Working Group meeting on Youth engagement in Environment, Urban and Rural Development will take place online on April 27th.
The WG meeting will convene policymakers, thematic experts, and representatives of Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) to discuss how to raise awareness among young people of the consequences of the massive urbanization faced by the Mediterranean region and how to provide them with the relevant skills for circular economy that will facilitate their employability while contributing to reverse this trend. UfM experts, Réseau des Villes Euromed, and International Centre for Advanced Mediterranean Agronomic Studies – CIHEAM will contribute to the debate by sharing their good practices and solutions.
This meeting is organised in the framework of the operationalisation of the “UfM Youth Strategy 2030: Euro-Mediterranean Youth towards a Common Goal“ which foresees four appointments to discuss its key priorities areas. The first meeting was successfully held online on February 27th focusing on Youth engagement in Climate Action and Energy. Two other WG meetings will be held in the next months to discuss youth engagement in Economic Development and Education, and Social Inclusion and Participation respectively. All the contributions and recommendations gathered during the WG meetings will be at the basis of the UfM Youth Action Plan that will be presented and adopted by the end of the year.
