Regional capacity workshop and stakeholder dialogue on climate, women, peace and security

19–20 November 2025, Amman, Jordan – The Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) and the Jordanian National Commission for Women (JNCW) will jointly host a two-day regional event in Amman to strengthen the linkages between climate action, gender equality, and peacebuilding in the Euro-Mediterranean region.

The regional capacity workshop and stakeholder dialogue on climate, women, peace and security will bring together around 80 participants from governments, UN agencies, civil society, academia, and regional organisations. The event will feature the official launch of the UfM Climate and WPS Network, designed to enhance cooperation, build institutional capacity, and promote women’s leadership in climate-security responses.

Discussions will focus on:

• integrating gender and climate considerations in national policies and action plans
• Addressing data and policy gaps across the gender–climate–security nexus
• Supporting women’s and youth leadership in resilience and adaptation efforts
• The event will conclude with the endorsement of the UfM WPS-Climate Network Roadmap 2026, outlining shared regional priorities and follow-up mechanisms for collaboration.
