Closing the Gap between Universities and Business: Digital Steering Committee Meetings on Reinforcing the Innovation-Employability Nexus in the Mediterranean
5 May 2020. The Union for the Mediterranean (UfM), supported by the German Development agency GIZ, is launching an initiative targeting staff from universities, research centres, education ministers, and all complementary stakeholders dedicated on the best practices reinforcing career opportunities of researchers and students. The initiative will be shaped through Steering Committee Meetings that will take place on the 5 and 19 May.
In the context of the current COVID-19 crisis, both meetings will be held through online and will be attended by stakeholders (regional partners, innovation initiatives, university networks, international institutions and employability/innovation experts), in addition to focal points of the UfM platform on Research and Innovation, in order to share relevant national best practices and help focus the activities through their experience.
These two steering committee meetings are expected to collect information about existing best practices, needs on the ground and regional challenges, to connect with existing initiatives and eventually, contribute to shaping the foreseen activities by discussing a draft proposal presented by the UfM on the envisioned publication, training and the regional seminar.
The first Digital UfM RIE-N Steering Committee Meeting will take place the 5 May 2020 and will tackle the following topic: How to promote employability and digitalisation ?
The second will take place the 19 May 2020 and will be about the following topic : How to promote entrepreneurship and start-up creation in Research and Innovation ?
