HOMERe Official Launch
Marseille, 17 March 2015
The UfM-labbelled HOMERe project (High Opportunity for Mediterranean Executives Recruitment) consists in an innovative mobility scheme promoting transnational internships in companies between nine Mediterranean countries: Algeria, Egypt, Spain, France, Greece, Italy, Lebanon, Morocco and Tunisia. HOMERe contributes to two main objectives of the Union for the Mediterranean: supporting education and youth employment and enhancing the development of the private sector in the region.
This official launching event will provide space for discussion on the transition from higher education to the labour market in the Mediterranean and on the positive role that transnational internships in companies can play in this regard. Both the modalities of the programme and its added-value for young graduates and for private companies will be presented and illustrated through testimonies from the first participants.
HOMERe fulfils two of the Union for the Mediterranean’s major objectives: the promotion of youth employment, in full accordance with the UfM Mediterranean Initiative for Jobs (Med4Jobs), and the private sector development in the region. By improving the access to mobility and the acquisition of skills in a professional environment for Mediterranean students, HOMERe contributes to increasing their employability prospects upon return to their native country, while supporting the development of companies – in particular SMEs – in the region.
