Malta asserts support and commitment to develop joint initiatives with the Union for the Mediterranean

Valetta, 26th August, 2013. The Secretary General of the Union for the Mediterranean, Fathallah Sijilmassi, held talks today with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malta, HE George W. Vella, upon his invitation. The Malta-UfM relations, the current developments in the region and the means to further strengthen cooperation in the Mediterranean were among the highlights discussed during the meeting.

The encounter witnessed the signature of a bilateral agreement aimed at fostering working relations, while for his part; Mr. Vella stressed the support of Malta to the UfM and praised its achievements, highlighting its importance as a framework for regional cooperation that contributes to peace, stability and development in the region.
