Creative industries, a driving force for growth in normal times and economic recovery in times of the pandemic
Ljubljana 30 November 2020 – The UfM SG, Nasser Kamel, took part today in online Slovenia’s Innovation Day 2020 “Symptoms of creativity”, organized jointly by the Creative Forum (MfA of Slovenia) and the Slovenian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Addressing the Leaders’ Panel: From Unplanned Spill-overs to Deliberate Cross-overs, along with high level speakers, namely Ministers and representatives of International Organisations, Nasser Kamel highlighted the importance of Creative industries as driving force for economic growth in normal times and economic recovery in the event of a crisis like the ongoing pandemic crisis as well as catalyst for social welfare and well-being.
The UfM SG underlined also the UfM strong commitment to promote creative sector in the region, citing, among other support activities, its collaboration with the MfA of Slovenia for the organisation of 2018 and 2019 editions of Creative Forum, a cooperation that will fortunately continue in 2021.
The Conference was the occasion to delve into the debate by addressing the critical need to bring in the future culture and creative industries closer to the traditional ones in a win-win scenario, the importance of creativity and innovation being now more evident than ever before to overcome quickly the negative socio-economic effects of COVID-19 crisis.
