Mediterranean Week of Economic Leaders – Barcelona

The IX edition of the Mediterranean Week of Economic Leaders will place an imperative role on the latest regional transformations, bringing regional and European views on the economic implications of the radical political transitions and the means for further sustaining EU-Mediterranean solutions.
This year the MedaWeek2015 entitled “Together, going further”, will include different forums and events focusing on key aspects for economic development in the Mediterranean region such as: the changing realities in North Africa, the Mediterranean city values, the opportunities of the Islamic Finances, the future automotive and feeding industry sector, the Mediterranean Cruise Industry, women entrepreneurship and the solar energy market, by sharing best practices, proposing specific projects and creating new business opportunities.
The event is organised by ASCAME , the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Navigation and the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM), in collaboration with the European institute of the Mediterranean (IEMed), the European Investment Bank (EIB) and other international institutions.
Within the framework of the Mediterranean Week of Economic Leaders, the UfM Secretariat will hold the 2nd ASCIMER Smart City Workshop and of the 7th Mediterranean Economic Cities Forum, in Barcelona on 26 November 2015.The meetings, jointly organised by ASCAME, MedCities and the ASCIMER Project (of the Polytechnic University of Madrid and the EIB) with the institutional support of the UfM Secretariat, will gather members of the political, entrepreneurial, academic and financial spheres that are participating in the definition of the Smart City Model in the Mediterranean Region.
