UfM participates in the first MEDREG Forum
Barcelona, 26 November 2014
The Secretariat of the Union for the Mediterranean will participate in the first Mediterranean Forum on Energy Regulators (MEDREG Forum). The forum will take place on 26 November 2014 in Barcelona, Spain under the theme “Regulation & Investments: Solutions for the Mediterranean Region”.
Within this framework, the UfM Deputy Secretary General for Energy, Ms Teresa Ribeiro, will participate as a speaker at the Closing Roundtable.
The MEDREG Forum is the only association representing independent public authorities in the electricity and gas sector. This forum will provide an occasion to review the current state of thinking on the relationship between energy regulation and investments, to identify the main challenges and risks and see how they can be addressed both at regional and sub-regional level. The expected outcomes are concrete and practical proposals for energy regulation in the Mediterranean.
The UfM Secretariat’s mandate addresses the numerous challenges that the Euro-Mediterranean region faces, including its energy sector, through the implementation of specific projects and policy dialogue to enhance regional cooperation.
