UfM Secretary General meets with the Vice-President of the Barcelona Metropolitan Area, Alfred Bosch
Barcelona, 15 April 2016. Following his meeting on 8 February 2016 with the Mayor of Barcelona and President of the AMB, Ada Colau, the UfM Secretary General Fathallah Sijilmassi received on 15 April at the headquarters of the UfM Secretariat the Vice-President of the Barcelona Metropolitan Area for International Relations and Cooperation, Alfred Bosch, accompanied by the Secretary General of the MedCities Network, Xavier Tiana.
The meeting focused on ways to continue advancing cooperation and strengthening ties between the Secretariat and the Barcelona Metropolitan Area within the framework of the MedCities Network, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year.
During the meeting, Sijilmassi expressed his gratitude for Barcelona’s continued support for the Euro-Mediterranean partnership and briefed the Vice-President on UfM projects and initiatives and their positive impact on regional human development integration and stability. Vice-President Bosch expressed his appreciation of the role of the UfM in addressing pressing challenges in the region and agreed about the need to further promote mutual cooperation.
Barcelona is the official headquarters of the Secretariat of the Union for the Mediterranean.
