UfM Water Expert Group (WEG)
The UfM Water Expert Group (WEG), mandated by the Euro-Mediterranean Ministerial Conference on Water (22 December 2008, Dead Sea, Jordan) and confirmed by the UfM Ministerial declaration on Water (Malta, 2017).
It provides a platform for information sharing and promotion of common objectives. It has the mandate to develop, under the guidance of the Senior Officials, the UfM Water agenda, through the exchange of information and provide technical recommendations, proposals and initiatives on water-related plans, programmes and projects in accordance with regional interest, aligned with countries’ water policy priorities.
It is comprised of high level representatives from the relevant Ministries and will convene twice a year counting on the participation as well of regional institutions, IFIs and stakeholders as observers.
