The UfM Secretariat maintains solid and strategic partnerships with the main actors relevant for the mission of the UfM.
By uniting efforts, we amplify our impact and drive progress in areas such as sustainable development, climate action, economic growth, and social inclusion.
We are proud to work alongside leading organisations that share our commitment to a sustainable and equitable future. Some of our key partners include:
• Regional Organisations: Since the UfM is partially funded by the EU, we work closely with several EU institutions and bodies. The UfM also collaborates with other organisations such as the League of Arab States and the African Union.
• Development Agencies of UfM Member States: We maintain strategic collaborations with agencies such as the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID), and the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida), all of which are financial contributors to the UfM.
• Development Banks and Financial Institutions: We work closely with the European Investment Bank and other institutions such as the French Development Agency (AFD) to strengthen the implementation of initiatives on the ground.
• United Nations Agencies: Our collaborations with UNDP, UN Women, UNEP, UNEPMAP, UNESCO, FAO, and other UN bodies enhance the scope and effectiveness of our projects, aligning with global frameworks such as the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
• Civil Society and NGOs: Partnerships with grassroots organisations foster inclusive and community-driven progress.
• Academic and Research Institutions: Engaging with world-class universities and think tanks strengthens the evidence-based foundations of our work.
• Private Sector: Collaborations with businesses and industry leaders drive innovation, job creation, and sustainable economic growth. The private sector plays a key role in scaling solutions and investing in the region’s future.
