Young Women from 6 Euro-Mediterranean countries on the process of developing their own start-ups thanks to the project Young Women as Job Creators.
Over 1,200 young female university students from Albania, Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, Palestine and Tunisia have attended the Women Entrepreneurship Days and are currently benefiting from mentoring and specific training on marketing, management and finance to develop their own start-ups.
A conference to present the project’s outcomes will be held next 28 April in Cairo. The event will take place in the framework of the Cairo Women’s Empowerment Summit and the Afro-Arab Mediterranean Congress for Business Women which is organised by the project’s Egyptian partner, the Egyptian Business Women Association.
Promoted by the Association of Organisations of Mediterranean Businesswomen (AFAEMME), the project objective is to promote women’s entrepreneurship by providing young female university students with the necessary skills and tools for the creation of their own businesses. In addition to the series of awareness seminars entitled “Women Entrepreneurship Days (WEDs)”, this phase will offer management, marketing and financing access training sessions, all crucial in the process of setting up a company.
