14th Energy Conference – Energy Transition: What Regional Geostrategy on the Horizon by 2050 ?
19 November 2018, Skhirat, Morocco. The Secretariat of the Union for the Mediterranean organises in partnership with Fédération de l’Energie of Morocco, the 14th Energy Conference “Energy Transition: What Regional Geostrategy on the Horizon by 2050 ?” in Skhirat, Morocco, on 19 November 2018.
Within the frame of the Memorandum of Understanding signed by the two organisations in 2017 and in line with the objectives of the UfM Energy Platforms, this conference aims to explore the scenarios of the energy transition and the energy sector on the horizon 2050 taking into account the integration of renewable energies in the regional electricity markets, the improvement of energy efficiency and the development of a regional gas market. In particular, several interventions will be dedicated to network interconnections, one of the main priorities of the UfM Regional Electricity Markets Platforms aiming at the progressive integration of energy systems and energy markets in the UfM region and, in particular, at the enhancement of electricity exchanges and interconnections, in order to achieve a secure, affordable and sustainable electricity supply for the benefit of citizens and economies in the Euro-Mediterranean region.
