UfM Regional Platform on Transport reviews progress to boost transport connectivity in the Mediterranean
26 June 2025, online. The Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) convened the Regional Platform on Transport Connectivity and its thematic Working Groups on Land, Air, and Maritime Transport and Logistics in an online session on 26 June 2025. The meeting brought together national transport coordinators and focal points from UfM Member States, along with representatives from key regional and international organisations, to assess and advance the implementation of the Regional Transport Action Plan for the Mediterranean (RTAP) 2021–2027.
Co-chaired by the UfM Co-Presidency – comprising the European Commission’s DG MOVE and the Jordanian Ministry of Transport, the event follows up on previous gatherings, including the platform’s November 2024 session, and the endorsement of the RTAP at the UfM Ministerial Conference on Transport held in February 2023.
A central item on the agenda was the presentation and discussion of the Mid-Term Review Report of the RTAP 2021–2027, as mandated by Action 28 of the Plan. The report, prepared by the UfM in close collaboration with the Co-Presidency, consolidates inputs from Member States and regional projects and reflects discussions from the previous edition of the platform.
