6th Annual Conference on Water Finance and Investment – Water finance: regional priorities and the role of banks

Water Environment & Blue Economy

13–14 October 2025, Cairo (Egypt) – The 6th Annual Conference on Water Finance and Investment will take place in Cairo on 13-14 October 2025. It is co-organized by the UfM and the European Union Delegation in Cairo in the framework of Cairo Water Week. Our partners include African Development Bank, GWP-Mediterranean, Ministry of Water Resource and Irrigation of Egypt, OECD, and Union of Arab Banks.

The topic of this year’s Conference is “Regional Priorities and the Role of Banks”. The new UfM Recommendations on Water Finance (in phase of final approval) will provide a thread throughout the Conference. The Conference will include:

  • a High-Level Panel;
  • three sessions focused respectively on the role of domestic commercial banks (with UAB), national public development banks (with OECD), and international development banks;
  • a session focused on EU policies and actors; and
  • a session discussing the integration of water finance in international water processes.

The UfM can facilitate the presence in Cairo of selected representatives of UfM member states.
