2 October 2025, Online. The Euro-Mediterranean Network of Women Journalists, with the support of the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) and the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida), will host an advanced online training session, “Practical AI for Journalists: Hands-On Skills in Prompt Engineering and Applications”, led by Saja Mortada from the Arab Reporters for Investigative Journalism (ARIJ). Following the Network’s first AI workshop in Istanbul in May 2025, which gathered 40 journalists from across the Arab world and Europe and received overwhelmingly positive feedback, this two-hour workshop responds directly to participants’ call for deeper and more practical engagement.
The session will equip journalists with advanced prompt engineering techniques, strengthen their confidence in applying AI tools, and provide hands-on practice in research, writing, fact-checking, and content production. Ethical considerations will be woven throughout the training, ensuring that participants can integrate AI responsibly and effectively into their professional work.
By centring the experience on women journalists while remaining open to all media professionals, the training continues to create a collaborative space for dialogue on gender-aware uses of AI and the future of tech-enhanced journalism.
