UfM opens call for side events at the Mediterranean Pavilion at COP31
Barcelona, 15 September 2026. The Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) is pleased to launch a call for proposals for side events and invites organisations interested in contributing to the Pavilion programme to submit proposals for side events at the Mediterranean Pavilion during the UN Climate Change Conference COP31, taking place in Antalya, Türkiye, from 9 to 20 November 2026. The deadline for submissions is 1 October 2026.
Coordinated by the UfM in partnership with regional institutions, the Mediterranean Pavilion is a shared space within the conference’s official Blue Zone, dedicated to bringing Mediterranean climate challenges and solutions to the global climate agenda. It brings together policymakers, international organisations, researchers, civil society and other stakeholders to exchange knowledge, showcase initiatives and strengthen cooperation across the region.
Proposed side events should highlight practical solutions, project outcomes and approaches that can be replicated, going beyond institutional promotion. They should address climate challenges from a Mediterranean and regional perspective, encourage cross-border cooperation and demonstrate their contribution to COP31’s thematic priorities.
Sessions should be conducted in English, follow a 60-minute format and feature a maximum of five speakers, including the moderator, with attention to gender balance and inclusive representation.
Submit your proposal through the online application form by 1 October 2026 and join the Mediterranean Pavilion in shaping the region’s contribution to COP31.
Please note submission of a proposal does not guarantee inclusion in the programme
