23-24 January 2024, Amman (Jordan) – The 2nd Regional Conference on the Socio-Economic Inclusion of Persons with Disability is a collaborative effort between the Union for the Mediterranean, ONCE Social Group, and the Jordanian Higher Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

The conference aims to launch the EUROMED Regional Agenda on the Socio-Economic Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities in the Mediterranean region. Building on the results of the preliminary assessment conducted in Barcelona in January 2022, the conference will analyze and acknowledge the current status of social and economic inclusion and define joint actions towards implementing the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. The Conference will focus as well on specific topics, such as disability and employment, social protection, gender equality and emerging topics.

Conference Specific Objectives:

  • Review and discuss the results of the preliminary study on the inclusion of persons with disability in the Mediterranean region, including current trends, obstacles, and consultation outcomes.
