High-level Meeting on Science Diplomacy

2 October 2024, Cairo – In the same vein of the successful EuroMed Science Diplomacy Conference that was held at the UfM headquarters in October 2023, the High-level Meeting on Science Diplomacy focuses on science diplomacy for advancing cooperation and dialogue in the Mediterranean. The Conference is set to take place in Cairo in October 2024, under the shared coordination of the UfM, the Arab League and the European Union, jointly working on this dossier for the first time.
This event targets diplomats, directors of research institutes, senior officials in line Ministries (research, foreign affairs, development, environment, etc). The goal of the seminar is to present and discuss initiatives on how research, science and innovation can be transformative engines for dialogue and sectorial cooperation in the Euro-Mediterranean region.
Following a high-level segment, technical sessions will delve into thematic areas as priorities for the region, as well as discussing concrete actions to foster science diplomacy in the Euro-Mediterranean region.
