13 January 2022. Although some 20 global water-related goals were adopted in 2015 as part of the 2030 Agenda, the SDGs are still little used by water stakeholders. One reason for this, is the richness of the 2030 Agenda, which aims to address all of humanity’s major challenges simultaneously. This richness is perceived as a complexity by potential users. They do not have the time to know and analyse the details of the 169 SDG targets.
In order to enable water stakeholders to make practical use of the SDGs by easily assessing the impacts of their activities on all the SDGs, the Water4allSDGsmethod eliminates this apparent complexity. It uses only concepts commonly used in the water and sanitation sector and can be used by any water stakeholder, even without knowledge of the SDGs. It is used in particular since the beginning of 2021 by an international jury linked to the World Water Forum in Dakar.
UfM Water Managing Director, Almotaz Abadi, will take part on 13 January 2022 in the conference-debate organised by the French Water Partnership to showcase a digital application to assess the impacts on all the SDGs of the water component of a project, policy or strategy.
