UfM Working Group on Urban Transformation on “Sustainable Urbanisation through Port City Transformation”

Transport & Urban Development

28-29 September, Barcelona (Spain)- Co-organised with MedCities, Rete and the Port of Barcelona the event will take place in Barcelona on September 28th -29th 2022. it aims to enhance dialogue and collaboration between public authorities and port authorities in general and on the co-creation of port cities regeneration projects, disseminating best practices in the region and identifying concrete urban regeneration and port development project ideas to be replicable and developed into bankable projects.

Points of discussion will be, among others, flagship projects as a catalyst for the regeneration process, master plans and city development strategies to develop a vision, the necessary consensus among key stakeholders for the implementation, the involvement of citizens, the role of private investors, or ways to increase the profitability or reduce the risk of planned regeneration projects.
