7-8 March 2024, Paris, France – The UfM Secretariat will organize a meeting on sustainable construction in the margins of the first global forum on “Buildings and Climate”, which will bring together governments, international organizations, financial institutions, local authorities, private sector organizations (materials and components industry, architecture, engineering, construction, real estate, owners, finance), and collective initiatives committed to decarbonization and climate resilience in the building sector. Co-organized by France and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the forum which will take place in Paris, France on 7-8 March 2024, includes a ministerial level meeting and aims to discuss the challenges faced by the buildings and construction industry, and to agree on a series of concrete recommendations for achieving decarbonization of the sector by 2030. The UfM event, co-organized with the European Commission, will serve to gather together delegations from UfM Member States participating in the forum to follow-up on the two TAIEX Regional Workshops on Energy Efficiency in Buildings, promote bilateral cooperation and support on the topic among UfM countries, highlight the achievement of EU-funded related regional programs, and showcase examples of IFIs support to countries in the region to advance on the decarbonization of the building sector.
