The Secretariat of the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM), actively participates in COP24 in Poland, where it presents two studies on the impact of climate change and on the state of play of climate finance in the region. Without additional mitigation, regional temperature increase will be of 2.2°C in 2040, possibly exceeding 3.8°C in some regions in 2100. In 2018, an average of one in four young North Africans is not in employment, education or training (NEETs) At the same time, in the Euro-Mediterranean region, hundreds of thousands of job positions are not filled due to a lack of suitable profiles. The skills gap is one of the main obstacles to the recruitment of young people. Marseille, France, 13 November 2018 – The Center for Mediterranean Integration (CMI), and the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) signed a 3-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) marking the launch of a new collaboration agreement between the two organizations.
