University return 2019-2020 : More than 700 new students join the EuroMed University of Fez
- First term for the new School of Digital Engineering and Artificial Engineering.
- Consolidation of the University’s international reach through the awarding of new Erasmus + projects.
The inaugural academic year of the EuroMed University of Fez took place on Monday 16 September 2019. With more than 700 new students enrolled for the 2019-2020 academic year (85% in Engineering and Architecture and 15% in Human and Social Sciences), the University accredited by the Union for the Mediterranean continues its expansion.
The main new feature of the training offer is the School of Digital and Artificial Engineering (EIDIA), which welcomed its first 120 students selected on the basis of academic criteria. At the end of the first two years of preparatory classes, these students will spend one year in the core curriculum before specialising in robotics and cobotics (human-robot collaboration), artificial intelligence, cyber security, web and mobile technologies or mega-data analysis (big data) in their fourth and fifth years. This innovative training, resolutely oriented towards industrial application, culminates in the Diploma of State Engineer.
At the beginning of the 2019-2020 academic year, the EuroMed University of Fez is also launching a new Master’s course in “Design and Engineering of Green Buildings” for graduates in civil engineering and building trades. The pedagogical structure of this Master’s degree has been developed in close cooperation with the University of Genoa (Italy), the University of La Rochelle (France) and the University of Warsaw (Poland), as well as with the University of Tlemcen (Algeria) and the University of Sousse (Tunisia) where it will also be deployed as part of the Euro-Mediterranean Proemed project, co-financed by the Erasmus+ programme.
The academic year 2019-2020 will see the diversification of the EruoMed University of Fes’ international mobility, with three new Erasmus+ projects approved between the University and its partners in Germany, Spain and Portugal. The EuroMed University of Fes will also participate alongside the EMUNI University – also accredited by the UfM – in an Erasmus + project to strengthen the capacities of universities in the southern Mediterranean countries for the implementation of on the spot internationalisation strategies (domestic internationalisation).
