UfM at 10 | Building together the future of cooperation and development in the Euro-Mediterranean region

In 2018 the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) commemorates 10 years of tangible action towards enhanced regional dialogue and cooperation in the Euro-Mediterranean region. Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Bourita, reiterates his support to the UfM

Rabat, 12 July 2018. The designated Secretary General, Nasser Kamel, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Kingdom of Morocco, Nasser Bourita. They stressed the importance of the work of the Union for the Mediterranean on regional cooperation. New steps towards a financial strategy for the UfM Water Agenda

Hosted by the OECD, the UfM organised the second Task Force meeting on Financial Strategy on water issues for enhancing investment and sustainable development in the Mediterranean Paris, 9 July 2018.  The Mediterranean region is one of the most water-scarce areas in the world with more than more than 180 million people being considered water poor. President Tajani: The European Parliament backs the UfM to strengthen Euro-Mediterranean regional cooperation

During his official visit to the European Parliament, UfM Designated Secretary General, Nasser Kamel, held talks with the President of the European Parliament and of the Bureau of the Parliamentary-Assembly of the UfM, Antonio Tajani. UfM supports the launch of a Euro-Mediterranean Research Network on Migration

The core mission of the EuroMedMig-ReNet network is to promote research, training, and knowledge transfer on the key current issues and main challenges connected with the migratory research Agenda in the Mediterranean. Youth from the Mediterranean meet to design cooperation projects for the promotion of youth employability, women’s empowerment and sustainable development

The 1st Youth Forum for the Mediterranean took place in Tarragona from 7 to 9 July in the framework of the XVIII Mediterranean Games.
