EuroMesCo: Connecting the Dots is a project co-funded by the European Union and the IEMed that is implemented in the framework of the EuroMeSCo network. It contributes to inclusive and evidence-based policy making by fostering research and recommendations in relation with the European Neighbourhood Policy (ENP) South priorities, with focus on economic development, migration and security.
Join the second edition of the five EuroMeSCo Joint Study Groups 2021 on the following topics:
- Anticipating and Mitigating Side-Effects: The Road to a Successful Green Transition in the Euro-Mediterranean Region
- Boosting Social Protection Reforms in the MENA Region
- Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia: A Comparative Perspective on Maghreb Countries Migration Cooperation with their West African Neighbours
- Artificial Intelligence, Law Enforcement and Security Agencies in the MENA Region: Risks and Opportunities
- Assessing the Job Creation Potential of Social Economy in the MENA Region
Each group is expected to produce a Policy Study with policy recommendations sustained in fieldwork and evidence-based research. As in the previous edition, these groups will be composed by four Authors, including a Coordinator, respecting geographical, gender and generational balance.
Are you interested in EU foreign policy in its southern neighbourhood and more generally Euro-Mediterranean relations? Then, this is your chance! You will be fully immersed in the work of the Euro-Mediterranean Policies Department. In particular, you will support the EuroMeSCo team, thereby gaining firsthand experience in running a large project co-funded by the EU in direct contact with think tanks all over the region.

In particular, you will support the IEMed Mediterranean Yearbook team in editing articles and compiling annexes related to this publication, which has become a benchmark in Euro-Mediterranean relations.
All about Arab and Muslim affairs, from socio-political analysis to academic interdisciplinary knowledge. While exploring issues such as Islamophobia and violent extremism, current socio-political dynamics in the Southern Mediterranean region are always at the core of our work. From research to action: this is an interdisciplinary team where you will be able to acquire a wide range of skills and become part of a passionate hard-working family.
Working on a wide range of key issues on the Euro-Mediterranean socioeconomic and human development agenda, the intern will contribute to the conception and organisation of events bringing together high-level experts and practitioners in Euro-Mediterranean affairs, provide assistance to the management of MedThink 5+5 and the MED Confederation networks, and develop analytical and writing skills by drafting reports and providing research assistance.
Do you want to participate in international projects with youths from the Euromed area to bring about social changes and reflect the plural, diverse and rich society in which we live? You will provide support to different intercultural initiatives that we promote as coordinators of the Spanish network for intercultural dialogue and will help promote its achievements on social media.
If you are interested in exploring the social, academic and institutional fabric of the Euro-Mediterranean region from a gender equality perspective, with us you will monitor, disseminate and create contents, and organise events and initiatives promoting a more egalitarian Mediterranean. You will also help develop the online platform of the Euro-Mediterranean Women’s Foundation and provide it with contents through its Documentation Centre.
You will work with a digital and off-line communications team creating content and updating the website, develop and distribute e-newsletters, and use other digital and social tools; contribute to the development and advancement of the digital media communications strategy, including social media outreach and online media contact cultivation; identify opportunities to develop op-eds; draft written materials as necessary.
You will assist in the development of the Institute´s fundraising strategy, including undertaking research on funding prospects, generating creative ideas to effectively approach and attract donors (public and private) and maintain positive relationships, supporting the development of high-quality funding proposals and ensuring the effectiveness of implementation of grants.
