Ministerial Conference on Strengthening Euro-Mediterranean Cooperation through Research and Innovation
Valletta, Malta, 4 May 2017. The Union for the Mediterranean will participate to the “Ministerial Conference on Strengthening Euro-Mediterranean Cooperation through Research and Innovation” organised under the auspices of the Maltese Presidency of the Council of the European Union, by the Malta Council for Science and Technology within the Ministry for Education and Employment, with the support of the European Commission. The event will be held on 4 May in Valletta, Malta.
The meeting will focus on research and innovation as tools to strengthen cooperation within the Euro-Mediterranean region. Key initiatives such as the Partnership for Research and Innovation in the Mediterranean Area (PRIMA) and the Initiative for Research and Innovation for Blue Jobs and Growth in the Mediterranean (BLUEMED) will be discussed as well as the role of research and innovation in understanding and addressing the root causes of migration.
The day before (3 May) will be dedicated to a technical-level meeting which outcomes will feed into the Ministerial Conference. This meeting will comprise a number of parallel sessions bringing together major academics, policy-makers, industry, key stakeholders and their representative organisations in the region.
