Context and objectives

The Higher Education on Food Security and Rural Development project aims to improve postgraduate programmes offered by the International Centre for Advanced Mediterranean Agronomic Studies (CIHEAM), in order to enhance cooperation among Mediterranean countries in the fields of food security and rural development.

The CIHEAM has historically been at the forefront of Mediterranean cooperation in the areas of agriculture, food safety and security. Over the years, the CIHEAM and the UfM have strengthened their partnership, promoting cooperation on agricultural sciences, food security and rural development in the Mediterranean.

This project aims to improve CIHEAM’s Master of Science degrees and advanced training courses for professionals. In addition to this, scholarships will be allocated to students from the Southern and Eastern Mediterranean.
