TransLogMED

Transport & Urban Development
Ongoing

Building upon and complementing the UfM-labelled project LOGISMED Training Activities (LOGISMED-TA), TransLogMED’s capacity building activities will address the whole logistics chain and will be oriented to the implementation of real services.

The Project is promoted by the European School – Intermodal Transport (Escola Europea – Intermodal Transport), and will be executed in cooperation with the École Nationale Supérieure de Technologie, Algeria; the Arab Academy for Science, Technology & Maritime Transport, Egypt; the Jordan Academy for Maritime Studies, Jordan; Port Training Institute, Morocco; and the Mediterranean Institute for Training in Maritime Professions, Tunisia.

With a total budget of 1.5 million euros over a 5-year period (starting in November 2017), the project will aim to foster regional integration in the Mediterranean, enhance professional performance, as well as promote employment and gender equality in the transport and logistics sector. These aims will be realized through the promotion of intermodal solutions, including maritime transport, as well as road, rail or inland navigation; the implementation of training and knowledge-transfer actions; and, ultimately, the development of sustainable transport chains and door-to-door logistics activities.

It is envisaged that over 30 networking seminars and certified courses will be held, benefiting almost 1,000 professionals in the transport and logistics sector from Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Italy, Morocco, Spain, and Tunisia. Beneficiaries will include public administrations related to international trade and transport; transport operators; training centres delivering transport & supply chain contents; SMEs as well as large companies dealing with national and international transportation and distribution; and media related to economy, logistics, transport and infrastructure.
