Cabinet

Andreas Nikolaides assumed his position as the Director of the Cabinet to the Secretary General of the Union for the Mediterranean in September 2026. Previously, he had served as Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus to the State of Qatar (September 2024-September 2026) and to the Sultanate of Oman (October 2020-September 2024).

Over a 25-year diplomatic career at the Cypriot Foreign Service, Ambassador Nikolaides has dealt extensively with issues related to the MENA region and the Mediterranean, including as Director of the MENA Division and as the Senior Official of Cyprus to the UfM (2013-2015). He also completed two tours at the Embassy of Cyprus to the USA and a tour to the Permanent Mission of Cyprus to the United Nations Office in Vienna.
