UfM Water Agenda: Consultation Meeting with Regional Institutions and Stakeholders
9 December 2020, online. The Union for the Mediterranean, in the context of our regional Water Agenda, is holding a Consultation Meeting with Regional Institutions and Stakeholders. The meeting will be an outstanding opportunity to gather relevant actors of the Euro-Mediterranean region involved in water issues.
The UfM Water Agenda, through its four Thematic Areas (Water, Energy, Food and Ecosystems’ Nexus, Water-Employment-Migration, Water Access, Sanitation and Hygiene, and Climate Change Adaptation) and its Financial Strategy, provides a central policy and technical vehicle for promoting understanding, assisting prioritisation, fostering action, and sharing knowledge towards achieving related common objectives in the UfM region.
Currently, a number of regional policy and action planning processes are in the making or are already advancing, holding interconnections with the UfM Water Agenda, with which we will explore in this meeting establishing operational linkages.
Aware of the efforts undertaken across the region by stakeholders on a daily basis to enhance cooperation and integration in the Euro-Mediterranean region, the UfM, with the collaboration of the Global Water Partnership-Mediterranean (GWP-Med), seeks with this online event to promote synergies among Euro-Mediterranean stakeholders and political actors and nurture the UfM Water Agenda (download it) for attaining water and climate resilience objectives, including with an overview of the 25th Anniversary of the Barcelona Process”.
