Third annual YOCOPAS (Youth Organised Collaboration on Peace and Sustainability) Conference – Meet. Connect. Act.
26-28 October 2017, Hakfar Hayarok, Israel. – The annual YOCOPAS Conference – Youth Organized Collaboration for Peace and Sustainability is one of the highlights of the academic year at the Eastern Mediterranean International School (EMIS), a project labelled by the Union for the Mediterranean.
The YOCOPAS initiative was established in 2015 by students and educators from EMIS in order to bring together high-school students from the Mediterranean region and beyond, in the world at large, with the objective to create a platform for collaborative action and to build capacities among students for them to emerge as leaders and social entrepreneurs in their local communities.
The annual conference of the YOCOPAS initiative is both youth-led and youth-targeted. It offers students aged between 16 and 18 years opportunities to engage in interactive workshops, discussions and social activities.
The focus of this third edition is about “Crossing borders”, with the ambition to investigate the notion of borders from different perspectives – personal, social and political.
An international audience of over 500 young people, teachers and high school principals is expected.
