UfM Ad-hoc Senior Officials Meeting (SOM) on Energy

The Union for the Mediterranean SOM (Senior Officials Meeting) of 31 March agreed to establish three high level UfM Energy Platforms on Gas, REM (Regional Electricity Market) and REEE (Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency). The official announcement took place in Rabat on 6 May.
The purpose of the UfM Platforms is to provide a permanent forum for discussing energy policy objectives and measures, with a view to identify concrete partnership actions and following-up on their implementation.
In this framework, a UfM ad hoc SOM on Energy will be held on 23 July in Barcelona. The objective of this gathering is to continue advancing on the identification of the main priorities in the region in order to strengthen the dialogue and the cooperation in the field of energy in the Mediterranean.
