European Neighbourhood Conference: “Towards a New European Neighbourhood Policy”
Barcelona, 28 November 2014. The UfM has participated in the European Neighbourhood Conference held in Berlin on 27 November. The theme was ‘Towards a New European Neighbourhood Policy’.
Organised by Bertelsmann Stiftung, the Conference aimed at discussing ways to reinforce the European Neighbourhood Policy (ENP) and at tackling the need to better respond to the aspirations of the European Union and its 16 Southern and Eastern Neighbours given the new geopolitical realities and transformations. Within this framework, sessions were dedicated to the EU’s expectations on the future of the ENP, the EU Neighbours’ expectations on the future of the ENP and ways to make the ENP work by translating expectations into policy.
UfM Secretary General Fathallah Sijilmassi participated in the Conference and engaged in a debate on ‘Improving Dialogue and Cooperation with Neighbours’. Secretary General Sijilmassi also made a working visit in Berlin during which he held several bilateral meetings with German Authorities.
