Academic Advisory Board Meeting of the UfM Network of Schools of Architecture & Urban Planning

November 2023 (Date TBC), Barcelona (Spain) – The upcoming meeting of the “UfM Network of Schools of Architecture & Urban Planning” will take place in Barcelona, Spain in November 2023, back-to-back with the Award Ceremony of the “UfM Urban Design Student Competition”.
The Student Competition has been conceptualized and initiated by the UfM Meetings of Schools of Architecture & Urban Planning, in the framework of the UfM Regional Platform on Sustainable Urban Development.
This 4th Meeting of the “Academic Advisory Group – Network of Schools of Architecture and Urban Planning of the Euro-Mediterranean Region” will take stock of the results of the “UfM Urban Design Student Competition” and discuss opportunities for a future edition of the competition, as well as advance on other concrete proposals that were raised in the previous meetings to materialize cooperation among schools in the region, namely a joint proposal for a COST action and an ERASMUS+ proposal.
Background
As part of the UfM Strategic Urban Development Action Plan’s implementation to “Educate and Strengthen Capacity” the inaugural session of the UfM Meeting of Schools of Architecture and Urban Planning had been organized in Barcelona, Spain on 23 May 2022, to set in motion the process of review, updating and convergence of curriculums of those Schools, with a view to enhancing skills development in higher education, while facilitating youth employment, and promoting links between academia and students of architecture in the region. Follow-up meetings were held in Ankara, Türkiye on 1-2 December 2022, hosted by the Middle Eastern Technical University, and in Tirana, Albania on 18-19 May 2023), hosted by the Polis University.
