11 December 2024 – Athens, Greece – The UfM Capacity building on gender equality and climate change will train around 40 women entrepreneurs within the MENA region to provide them with relevant skills within the topic. The event is dedicated to promoting gender-inclusive solutions to climate change, in line with the commitments of the 5th UfM Ministerial Declaration on Strengthening the Role of Women in Society, adopted in 2022. It will serve as a key platform for female entrepreneurs, climate experts, and regional stakeholders to exchange best practices and address key challenges in this field.
Key training’s topics include:
The event will serve as the presentation of the UfM’s Community of Practices on the Nexus of Gender and Climate Change, followed by sessions focusing on financial access for women entrepreneurs and opportunities in the green and blue economy. The day will conclude with a networking session and exchange of good practices for future initiatives.
Specific Objective:
This event aims to enhance women’s access to finance in the green and blue economy, promote female entrepreneurship in these sectors, and foster collaboration and networking among stakeholders to support sustainable, gender-inclusive initiatives.
