12-15 September 2021. The 2021 Creative Forum, under the slogan Future Unlocked, is being organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Slovenia, in collaboration with the Union for the Mediterranean. The event will take place in Ljubljana from 12 until 15 of September, hosted by the recently inaugurated Slovenian Presidency of the Council of the EU. As the slogan states, the aim of the forum is to gather creatives from the European Union, Western Balkans and Southern Mediterranean countries to identify skills, tools and methods used to unlock the potential of the global creative economy.
More than anything before, the pandemic has uncovered the immense contribution of culture and creativity not only to citizens’ well-being, but also as agents of change to social innovation, economic growth, and international cooperation. In this line, this high-level event will address the cultural and creative sectors’ often overlooked yet unique contribution to foreign relations, with particular focus on ensuring peace and stability. The Creativeforum.si, European Creative Industries Summit and the Centre for Creativity Slovenia will join hands in this endeavour.
The Forum, which celebrated its first edition in 2018, is a platform for a lively and cross-sectoral exchange between creatives, entrepreneurs and policymakers. Moreover, it invites different to jointly create an enabling environment for the cultural and creative sector to prosper, while It providing capacity building, networking opportunities and room for debate.
