The UfM Practical educational workshop on e-Governance will be organized on 22 and 23 February 2021 will take place in Algeria with online participants and in collaboration with GIZ and the Estonian Association of Information Technology and Telecommunications “ITL”.
The first of a series of national Workshops on “e-Governance”, this event constitutes a follow-up activity to the UfM Conference on Digital Transformation and Digital Skills for the Future which was held in the Estonian capital Tallinn, on the 30 of September 2019, in partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Estonia and GIZ. The event brought together a variety of stakeholders, including the public and private sectors as well as academia) from the Euro-Mediterranean region to discuss Digital Transformation related challenges and opportunities.
The Workshop will be intended for public officials who are responsible for digital transformation as well as relevant private sector/civil society representatives. It will include the participation of around 40 participants from Algeria, who will have deep insights and dissemination of e-Governance best practices on how to build secure digital solutions to create a conducive business environment, with a special focus on facilitating processes for Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises.
The UfM Secretary General, Nasser Kamel, will deliver the opening speech, along with the Algerian Minister in charge of start-ups, at the opening ceremony on 22 February.
