Experts of the UfM Secretariat promote Financial Literacy among Young Professionals
- The UfM Webinar on “Access to Finance: Introduction to the Funding Landscape” introduced the public to the basics of funding and the various categories and instruments available to startups and young entrepreneurs.
- The Webinar is part of a series of webinars targeting the general public with more focus on younger stakeholders, as part of the UfM Secretariat’s efforts to reach out to a broader audience during times of crisis.
Barcelona, 17 June 2020. The second Webinar to be delivered by the UfM Business Development and Employment Division took place today, anchored to the UfM Secretariat’s efforts to contribute to the post-pandemic recovery, targeting younger stakeholders and capitalizing on the in-house expertise in several sectors as part of its social responsibility and its commitment to reach out to more and more target groups.
Following the first webinar on “Economic Opportunities and Skills in the Post-Pandemic Horizon: Reasons for Hope” held on 20 May 2020, the second webinar focused on “Access to Finance: Introduction to the Funding Landscape”, with an emphasis on startups and young entrepreneurs, equipping the participants with a basic funding toolkit to improve their financial literacy and their ability to navigate the complex funding matrix.
Following a brief on the socio-economic impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic on the UfM Region, Mr. Mohammed Elrazzaz from the UfM Business Development and Employment Division explained the funding landscape and the different categories of funding (Debt, Equity, Mezzanine), exploring various funding instruments and their suitability at different stages of a company’s or a project’s lifecycle.
More webinars reaching out to young professionals and entrepreneurs, fresh grads and university students are scheduled for the coming months.
