First meeting of the Union for the Mediterranean Climate Change Expert Group

Barcelona, 13-14 October 2014

Following the UfM Ministerial Meeting on Environment and Climate Change on 13 May 2014 in Athens, the first meeting of the UfM Climate Change Expert Group (UfM CCEG) will be held on 13-14 October 2014 in Barcelona.

The UfM Climate Change Expert Group will set in motion a multilateral and multi-stakeholder platform for the exchange of information, best practices and concrete cooperation opportunities among UfM Member States in the field of climate change.

During this first gathering and according to the main themes of action identified and discussed, a work programme is expected to be approved as a roadmap for the coming months.

The UfM Climate Change Expert Group will meet at least once a year in order to identify regional projects that could be endorsed and promoted by the UfM as well as to readjust and discuss priorities in the region.
